Joining our host Chef Ken Frank of La Toque for the 2016 Napa Truffle Festival are three master chefs, including San Francisco’s David Barzelay of Lazy Bear, Italy’s Stefano Ciotti of Nestrano and New Orleans’ Rick Tramonto of Restaurant R’evolution. As a special preview, Chef Rick shared his delicious, soul warming recipe for truffle cappuccino soup. It’s easy!
Rick Tramonto is enjoying a very distinguished career. He was the executive chef and founding partner of Chicago’s world-renowned four-star restaurant Tru, a Relais Châteaux property, and is the president and culinary director of Tramonto Cuisine, Inc. Most recently, in partnership with Louisiana native Chef John Folse, Tramonto and Folse opened their first joint restaurant project, Restaurant R’evolution, in New Orleans’ renowned French Quarter in the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Their second project together is Seafood R’evolution, in Ridgeland Mississippi, which opened last year.
An accomplished author, Tramonto has eight titles to his credit, including his memoir, Scars of a Chef, and American Brasserie, which was finalist for the Julia Child Cookbook Awards. He has also won numerous awards and has a long history of television work, appearing on Oprah, The Today Show, CBS This Morning, Simply Ming, Iron Chef America, and as a guest judge on Top Chef and a contestant on Season 2 of Bravo’s Top Chef Masters.
You can meet Chef Rick in person at the Napa Truffle Festival where he’ll do a cooking demo and prepare the menu for a Winery Truffle Lunch, and participate in the Truffles & Wine Dinner at La Toque.
